Engaged // Sean & Marta

There is something about the “unknown” of engagement photos that I really enjoy. With a wedding, I feel like there are a lot more predictable things going on as we’re following somewhat of a schedule of events. Distractions if you will. With engagements — it’s just me and you, going with the flow, trying things, capturing interactions. Sometimes that freaks people out, but man, aligning with not only the right couple, but the right light, the right mood, and the right moments creates some pretty awesome stuff. Sean (who also happens to be my letterpress printer and a good friend) and his drop-dead gorgeous model of a fiancé Marta (wait to you see this girl work it) decided to hop back over to the very place the two of them will exchange vows this next year. The same place, but in an entirely different way. Not as husband and wife, but still enjoying the season that is an engagement. Shooting by the window she will likely get into her dress. In the room where they will see each other for the first time. On the grounds where they will exchange promises & forevers.

These two know one another so well, but their relationship isn’t that “comfort relationship” — you know, the one where you’ve been together for SO long, a lot of that initial spark and chemistry has faded — theres is still that palpable love that the camera just loves. We had fun, we tried something new for both of us, and dang am I proud of what we produced. Cheers to these two.

Oh, and if any of you EVER need letterpress done — Sean is your guy. Been using him for years on every letterpress project and he always delivers beautiful, timely, amazing work. Check out the Pike Street Press.

Again, and as always, mixture of film & digital.
